Whether it’s bridal counseling or groom counseling that you seek, sessions are specifically tailored to address issues and topics particular to each client. They are intended to provide guidance for the engaged woman who is struggling with a sense of loss or fear, the newlywed who feels that her transition into marriage was incomplete, grooms, mothers and fathers. The sessions provide a compassionate arena for you to discuss all aspects of your emotional life in regard to this transition – from the anxiety, grief, and confusion to the joy and excitement.
The sessions are focused on identifying and working through the key areas where your transition feelings are centered: Are you having difficulty letting go of your singlehood? Do you find yourself dreaming of ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends? Are you feeling the leap into the adulthood? How about the fear of making the biggest commitment of your life? Or, if you’re already married, do you feel depressed or confused about your transition? For mothers of the bride and groom, are you having a difficult time letting go? To move through this transition gracefully, it is essential to explore the answers to these questions and find the guidance your need to embrace this new marriage.
Sessions are scheduled individually and initially include a series of checklists that will help you identify which areas of this transition are most affecting you. Sessions take place by phone, Skype or in person and last approximately 50 minutes. We schedule the sessions according to your need. For some men and women that means we work every week; for others we work once a month for a year.
