I love being indoors for a day then outdoors the next. I love spending the afternoon in the garden with my boys, hands digging in the dirt, cool breeze across our faces, then coming indoors to clean up and warm up. I love the hint of spring that follows months of winter.
I love the contrasts which is, perhaps, why I’m so fascinated by transitions: transitions, by definition, span the polarity of experiences, beginning with a letting go/death stage and ending with a rebirth.
Yesterday was a gray pajama day and today is a showered sun day. Each helps me
appreciate the other, just as the dark night of the soul that often accompanies the letting go stage of major transitions helps us appreciate the new birth that inevitably follows.
